Many years ago I was invited to conduct a weekly "spiritual hour" at one of the drug/alcohol rehab facilities in our town. Realizing that the term "spiritual hour" could take on many different definitions and be very ambiguous, I wanted to clarify with the director of the facility what he could expect from me. We both agreed that "spiritual hour" at his facility would simply be "Jesus Christ and the Bible." It would not include a specific church, denomination or religion. I can thank the inmates in the Big Spring Federal Prison who attended my Bible class for making me aware of clarifyi

“Change,” which most of the people desired and voted for, is really speeding up. In fact, it has been gaining momentum even before the 21st century began. The “change” in morals and bibles is running amok. Currently we are being introduced to the latest “new bible,” called the Princess Diana Bible. It is written for gays, stating that God joined two women in marriage and eliminating those verses where God stated very plainly that homosexuality is sin. This is the first, but it won’t be the last bible catering to the filth of the flesh.
“And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
"Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you." 2 Corinthians 6:17
We are often asked our opinion regarding "contemporary worship services." I pray that I will answer this according to God's word and will. I want to be careful because I feel there are many "babes" (1 Corinthians 3:1) that are sincere, but deceived about this matter. One can be a "babe in Christ" without being a new Christian. I spent many years with little or no growth in my Christianity, so the length of time one has been saved has nothing to do with their maturity in Christ. I want to be kind, but more so, I want to honest and scriptural. Love is n
"Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ." Colossians 2:16-17
We have just finished the Book of Colossians in our weekly Bible study. The book was written by Paul during his first imprisonment in Rome after he announced to the chief of the Jews:
The Immortal Soul?
We should let the scriptures speak:
KJV Ezekiel 18:4 Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die. (Eze 18:4 KJV)
KJV Matthew 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. (Mat 10:28 KJV)
Clearly the soul can die. Indeed the soul with the body can be destroyed in "hell".
"... the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will." Daniel 4:25
Common sense has left our nation. Courage has departed in preference to popularity and economic security. Politics has taken precedence in sports, business and religion.
Christmas is here again.! I love this time of year and…yes…I am familiar with all of the problems, both real and imagined. There is the commercialism, the falsehoods presented for facts and the multitudes who pay no attention to Christ's birth.
No, I do not believe that the tree in Jeremiah 10:1-5 is the Christmas tree. I have never seen a tree with real "silver and gold," only silver and gold tinsel, and if you think they are the same, I would like to trade some silver and gold tinsel for your gold and silver.
Easter is here! Christ has risen! Everything worthwhile is tied to Christ’s resurrection. Paul said,
“And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain…If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.” 1 Corinthians 15:14, 19
There are two events in scripture that point to drastic mistakes we can make about Jesus Christ. Both of these mistakes were made by people who were close to Him, who loved Him and were dedicated to Him.
