February 12th, 2012

This lesson was taught on February 12, 2012. Paul teaches that we are not to strive with one another--that we should not create a division but be patient and kind, teaching others the wonder of the mystery--Paul's gospel. The scripture reading is 2 Timothy 2:7-10 KJV: "7 Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things. 8 Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel: 9 Wherein I suffer trouble, as an evil doer, even unto bonds; but the word of God is not bound. 10 Therefore I endure all things for the elect's...

February 5th, 2012

This lesson was taught on February 5, 2012 where Paul reminds Timothy that Christ was raised from the dead acording to "my" gospel.  Paul was specifically called by God unto a certain ministry. He admonished Timothy to not only learn, but to teach others who will also go out in the world spreading this gospel. The scripture reading is 2 Timothy 2:7-10 KJV: "7 Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things. 8 Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel: 9 Wherein I suffer trouble, as an evil doer, even unto...

January 29th, 2012

This lesson was taught on January 29, 2012. The scripture reading is 2 Timothy 2:1-10 KJV: "1 Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. 2 And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also. 3 Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. 4 No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier. 5 And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he...

January 22nd, 2012

This lesson was given January 22, 2012 and continues with the theme of "Remembrance." This is important information for us because it's the last letter of the prison epistles, the last letter of the mystery--God's sacred secret to the Gentiles. Paul is sending a letter of encouragement to Timothy because he realized that discouragement is the devil's greatest tool. We, too, as christians become discouraged and need to show love and encouragement to one another. Scripture reading is 2 Timothy 1:12 through 2:2 KJV: "12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am...

January 15th, 2012

This lesson was taught on January 15, 2012 and emphasizes that "the fight is on." The world tells us more and more that the road is wide, but the Bible teaches that "narrow is the way." The only way to heaven is Jesus. Paul again puts us in remembrance that we should not be ashamed of his testimony--his gospel, and that we should pray for the saints. The enemy is attacking on all fronts and we should always seek to find the truth. Scripture reading is 2 Timothy 1:6-14 KJV: "6 Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of...

January 8th, 2012

This lesson was taught on January 8, 2012 and again points out that life has many choices, but eternity has only two. This applies to everyone. This study is about "remembrance."  There are things we are to remember and things we are to put behind us. Paul advised us in this his final letter that we are to remember the saints without ceasing, keeping them in prayer and encouraging them along the way. Scripture reading is 2 Timothy 1:1-6 KJV: "1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, according to the promise of life which is in Christ Jesus, 2 To Timothy, my dearly...

December 18th, 2011

The lesson on December 18, 2011 was part 3 of "Christmas the Philippian Way".  The scripture reading was from Philippians 2:5-11 KJV "5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. 9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every...

December 11th, 2011

The lesson on December 11, 2011 was part 2 of the study "Christmas The Philippian Way".  The scripture reading was from Matthew 1:18-25 KJV "18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. 19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily. 20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take...

December 4th, 2011

The lesson on December 4, 2011 started looking at Christmas from the Philippian perspective. 9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is...

September 18th, 2011

The lesson on September 18, 2011 was part 8 of the "Before the Beginning" study and it finished the series.  The scripture reading was from Acts 17:1-11 KJV "1 Now when they had passed through Amphipolis and Apollonia, they came to Thessalonica, where was a synagogue of the Jews: 2 And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures, 3 Opening and alleging, that Christ must needs have suffered, and risen again from the dead; and that this Jesus, whom I preach unto you, is Christ. 4 And some of them believed, and consorted with...
