This past month another child died of diabetes because her parents refused medical treatment. Her parents prayed for her to get better; they expected God to heal her and certainly did not want her to die. The mother stated that the family believes in the Bible, which says that healing comes from God. What heartache this family must be enduring. What guilt feelings the mother and father must be experiencing. What questions they must be asking themselves. How will this affect their faith? They obviously believed until their daughter’s last breath that God was going to heal her, so no one can...

“Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.” Colossians 2:8

I know of no one who would say that the world, our nation, our state or even our town was doing well spiritually. In the 60’s we lost prayer and Bible reading in our schools. Since that time, abortion has been accepted as a matter of choice instead of murder; homosexuality is accepted as an alternate lifestyle instead of an abomination to God; Jesus Christ has been banned from school and public events; and yet, we...

It’s that great time of the year again. It seems the years are getting much shorter. When I was young, I thought Christmas would never get here. As my age has increased the years have grown shorter. What hasn’t changed is the thrill of remembering His birth. Commercialism seems to increase each year. Christmas decorations are displayed before Thanksgiving. The quest for the almighty dollar has not dulled the announcement of the Saviour.

“And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came...

In the garden of Eden Satan challenged what God said (Genesis 3:1,) then he outright called God a liar (Genesis. 3:4.) Eve added to what God has said (Genesis 3:32,) and there you have it...satan and men contradicting what God has said. Satan claimed to Eve that God is unjust, unkind and untruthful. Now Jesus said that Satan was a liar, that there was no truth in Him...that he was the father of lies (John 8:44.) We now have the boundaries drawn, EITHER we accept God's word as preserved truth (Psalms 12:6-7) or we accept the "changed" word. Notice what God had to say about those given to...

What a change one word can make in studying God’s word. I recently heard a message that reversed God’s truth because of one word. The basis of the sermon was John 15:1-8. This is Christ’s dissertation on our abiding in Him and bearing fruit. He speaks of “fruit” and “more fruit” in v. 2 and “much fruit” in vs. 5, 8.

This passage does not pertain to salvation, but our service for Him. At the time of Christ’s speaking, Judas was departed (John 13:29-30) and Christ is left alone with the eleven. The message is that we are to bear fruit, reproduce other Christians, if you will. If we...

In the final days of Christ's earthly ministry, Jesus stood in the Temple at Jerusalem and said:

"O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!" Matthew 23:37

For three and one-half years Jesus had preached to and prayed for His people.

"...He came unto His own, and His own received Him not." John 1:11

He came to "His own" nation, Israel. He came to "His own" city,...

Thanksgiving is here again and many are saying that it seems that every day we have less and less for which to be thankful.  As we look around us we see problems and perversions engulfing us.  Everywhere we turn we can see those deliberately destroying our nation and for what it once stood.  Biblical principles and morals are passé, while perversion triumphs.  We are repeating the days of Isaiah:

"Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!"  Isaiah 5:20

Our unborn...

Time does fly, but only as you look back on it. 2006 has been like most years, both bitter and sweet. We have buried some loved ones, including my Mother. We have seen good friends stumble and fall back into the prison system. We see truth continue to be sacrificed for profit, power and prestige. We keep reading about the masses leaving the ministry, churches going hip-hop trying to stave off their failure. Every few months we have another “fantastic” bible that is easier to read and understand, totally ignoring the fact that unless the Holy Spirit teaches us, we will still be without...

"This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves..." 2 Timothy 3:1-2

The word "perilous" means "dangerous." These are dangerous times...murders, mass murders, random killings, family murders. This is the result of men loving themselves...they care about no one else; my life is important, yours is not!

We have had multiple killings in bars, churches, parks, schools, shopping centers...no place is safe.

Whether these killings are caused by airplanes at the Twin Towers or bullets in Orlando, no one...

Super Bowl 50 has come and gone. It was a great defensive football game which thrilled the real aficionados of the game and was boring to those who just want see touchdowns. As usual, there were private celebrations after every big play with either the offensive or defensive player drawing great attention to himself as if he won the game. This game also revealed that some who can celebrate their wins cannot handle their losses too well. Grown men drawing millions of dollars, pouting, whining and blaming others. This attitude has marked the biggest change in sports in my lifetime.
