My former understanding
Introduction

Acts 28 is clearly a huge event and one which is marked out in scripture as a culminating end to the book of Acts. There is no doubt in my mind that Acts 28 is hugely significant in the progress of doctrine and the spritual history of the nation of Israel and the gentiles (nations).

The question that I would like to address, though, is "When did God declare Israel to be de facto "Lo-ammi"? And when was "the mystery" of Col. 1:26 revealed in relation to Acts 28? Are these events contemporaneous?

Introduction

Paul made it to Rome amidst some amazing and miraculous works of God which would have been evident to those travelling with Paul which incuded Luke, Aristarchus, the centurion guard Julias, fellow prisoners, sailors and "others". He was judged by Roman authorities to be innocent (Acts 28:18)  prior to the events of Acts 28:

Who, when they had examined me, would have let me go, because there was no cause of death in me. (Acts 28:18 KJV)

and his special treatment upon arrival in Rome till Acts 28:31 is consistent with this.

Introduction

How will we determine what happened in Acts 28 regarding the judgment on Israel?

The first thing we should look at is the context of Acts 28 itself (see: https://rightdivision.com/blog/acts-29-acts-28-reconsidered ) and then the progress of doctrine as it is prophesied. (Matt 22) And finally examine parallels in the scripture.(Luke 24, much of the exilic prophets)

The beginning of the book of acts reminds the reader of what Jesus did immediately after his resurrection:

KJV Acts 1:3 To...

Introduction

"No pain no gain!!" The modern response to this phrase is sometimes "No pain no pain" -- the point is why go through pain -- is the gain worth it? In the case of reviewing and examining those things which we believe while painful will often be very fruitful because biblical doctrines will often be dependent on each other. Truth is important and when it comes to a systematic or schema we need to get it right. The pain is worth it!

In this blog we will look at the meaning of the systematic I am suggesting, which is a work in progress and will be adjusted as time and...

Introduction

The motivation for this study is that we wish to understand the precise nature of Acts 28 in the progress of doctrine as it relates to God's judgment on Israel. When did Israel become "lo-ammi"? The Acts 28 position of Welch and others would say that Isarel was de jure Lo ammi in Matthew 13 and de facto in Acts 28. I can affirm the de jure -- but de facto is more difficult to substantiate in Acts 28.

We know that the reason parables were introduced was to hide knowledge from the masses and that they contained information relevant to the mysteries of the kingdom of...

The second coming Introduction

As Christians, we are interested in the events surrounding the second coming of our lord. Many questions come to mind like "when will this happen?", "where will this occur?" and "what resurrections are involved with the phases of the lord's return?".  Please note that this study is preliminary and details will need to be adjusted as our understanding increases. There are some connections which are still yet to be made but it is my hope that this will be an informative, helpful and enlightening first dive into this subject.

Method of inquiry
