The lesson on June 23, 2013 was part 10 of the "Galatians" study.  Chapter 3 is covered, particlarly the part where Paul declares to the foolish Galatians that they should learn the understanding that salvation is by faith and not by the works of the law.  We also learn that when God gave the promise to Abraham, it was declared to him when Abraham was under a deep sleep.  Consequently, there was no mediator involved because God declared his program to Abraham.  It was a one way discussion.  We learn how algebraic math demonstrates that the addition in this passage speaks about law being...

The lesson on October 20, 2013 was part 3 of the "Ephesians" study and reviewed the high points from the previous lesson before moving into the main emphasis. In Ephesians 4:1, which is the start of the second major section in Ephesians, the word "beseech" means along side.  Paul is calling you alongside your calling whereby you are callled!  You have to understand the calling that Paul is disclosing to you now in this age.  Paul in Ephesians is revealing the Mystery, which was hidden before the foundation of the world (as opposed to from or since) and is a special truth given to Paul the...

The lesson on August 11, 2013 continued in the study of "Galatians" with part 17.  This covered the end of chapter 4 through verse 1 of chapter 5.  The review started with verse 21 where Paul asked the Galatians if they heard the law having the desire to be under it.  We were reminded of the two houses that Paul explained, one was the house of faith prior to Acts 28, and the other which is the house of God, after Acts 28.  Paul often used proof by contradiction.    False teachers will want to have an affect on you so that you will affect them.  They feed off seeing you being used.  When...

December 15th, 2013

The lesson on December 15, 2013 was part 10 of the "Ephesians" study and continued almost to the end of chapter two. As is usual, we reviewed the previous lesson where we learned the proper interpretation of verse 8 where we learn that "for by grace are you saved through faith" not of yourselves.  The "not of yourselves" applies to the entire idea together.  We learned that we have been created in Christ as a new man who has been prepared for good works.  This is the proper order because your works have nothing to do with your salvation. The remaining part of chapter two involves the theme...

The lesson on May 4, 2014 was part 25 of the "Ephesians" study.  A review was given of the three points we learned from the last lesson.  These were 1) There is a way to learn Christ.  This instance is on the balance with deeds and works but the emphasis is on the pattern when Paul talks about the form of sound words. 2) Renewal occurs in your mind first before the body. And 3) Putting away lying or the lie.  We looked at the structure in Ephesians 4.  This lesson emphasized the walk and we looked at the 7 times walking is referenced in Ephesians.  Walking, redeeming, and submitting was...

April 21st, 2013

This lesson was taught on April 21, 2013 and is part 1 of the "Galatians" study.  This is the introduction to Galatians and tells us why Galatians is a study that we should undertake after understanding the ABC's of Right Division.  We learn about Paul's technique in writing his books and then are provided an understanding of the churches he was writing during the book of Acts. This book was written by the Apostle Paul in his first ministry and is defending his Apostleship and the message of salvation by grace with the churches in Galatia. The scripture reading was from Galatians 3:21-25...

June 9th, 2013

The lesson on June 9, 2013 was part 8 of the "Galatians" study and is in chapter 3.  Initially, the lesson reviewed the "faith of Christ" versus our "faith in Christ" as the primary source of failth for our salvation.  The Faith of Christ was constant, He never waivered all the way to the cross.  Our failth may waiver at times even though we may not admit it, it is always changing.  If we were to rest on our own personal faith for justification, it would be a terrible thing.  The faith of Christ is rock solid and is what our justification is based on.  A comparison between the Acts period...

October 6th, 2013

The lesson on October 6, 2013 started a new series on Ephesians and provided an overview of the book. Ephesians is such a huge blessing in the life of a Christian.  When you truly understand the message in Ephesians, it is like being born again, again.  When you look at Ephesians, there is an apparent structure to it.  When you look at Paul's declaration in Ephesians 4:1 and 3:1 of being a prisoner of the Lord, this identifies this as a prison epistle but it is much more than that.  We are encouraged to walk worthy of the basis on the doctrine we were just given.  The structure of the six...

The lesson on February 9, 2014 was part 16 of the "Ephesians" study.  The lesson started with a review of previous material and looked at chapter 3, verse 9 in the context of fellowship.  The best way to look at fellowship is to look at all the words which comes from the translation of Greek word "κοινωνία".  Communion, contribution, distribution, communication and fellowship are come from this Greek word.  If you are not in fellowship with common causes, you will not be able to contribute in building something together.  PAul is the one that is teaching the unsearchable riches of Christ...

July 28th, 2013

The lesson on July 28, 2013 was part 15 of the "Galatians" study and continued in chapter 4 having explained the point Paul was making about leaving the elements of their Pagan worship to the elements of the law that he had left when acknowledging faith had come and been revealed.  The Galatians no longer should consider going back to the law for instructions on how to become saved.  Their faith in Christ and the faith of Christ had now been established as the foundation for salvation in the house of faith.  This passage covers the "zeal" that was present.  Zeal can have good or bad...
