Man, His Nature and Destiny - Part 7

Man, His Nature and Destiny - Part 7

The lesson on December 11, 2016 was part 7 and the final of the "Man, His Nature and Destiny" study.  This wraps up the study that took us into "The Apocalypse" sub-study to search out answers regarding the nature of man and the how we achieve eternal life.  We learned about the traditional view of man versus the scriptural view we learned through these two studies.  The combined studies covered 52 lessons.  In summary, we have learned that Man is a soul (Genesis.2:7).  The soul dies (Ezekiel 18:4,20). Man has a spirit and at death it returns back to God who gave it (Ecclesiastes 12:7).  In death there is no consciousness – the dead know not anything (Ecclesiastes 9:5). The intermediate state is NOT represented by Lazarus and the rich man (Luke 16:19-31).  Resurrection is the means of experiencing LIFE (1 Corinthians15:53).  The scripture reading was from Isaiah 34:6-10 KJV

"6 The sword of the Lord is filled with blood, it is made fat with fatness, and with the blood of lambs and goats, with the fat of the kidneys of rams: for the Lord hath a sacrifice in Bozrah, and a great slaughter in the land of Idumea.7 And the unicorns shall come down with them, and the bullocks with the bulls; and their land shall be soaked with blood, and their dust made fat with fatness.8 For it is the day of the Lord's vengeance, and the year of recompences for the controversy of Zion. 9 And the streams thereof shall be turned into pitch, and the dust thereof into brimstone, and the land thereof shall become burning pitch. 10 It shall not be quenched night nor day; the smoke thereof shall go up for ever: from generation to generation it shall lie waste; none shall pass through it for ever and ever."
