Hermeneutics-Part5

The lesson on November 29, 2020 was part 5 of the "Hermeneutics" study.  This weeks focus was on Typology.  The typology in scripture are examples for us to learn.  There are many types in the testimony of Jesus Christ whereas it says in John 5:39 KJV "Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me."  We see in all of the Old Testament (The Law = Torah; The Prophets = Nebiim; The Psalms = Kethubim) that Jesus is seen in types and shadows. In the New Testament we see other examples: Hebrews 4:11 Israel an example of unbelief; Hebrews 8:4,5; 9:24; 10:1 Tabernacle – example and shadow of heavenly things; Hebrews 7:3,15-17: Melchizedeck; John 3: 14-15: Brazen serpent; and 1 Corinthians 10:14 Spiritual rock.  The scripture reading was from Acts 8:17-24 KJV

Here is a new audio series on the Coming of Elijah.  Malachi 4:1-6 KJV says "1 For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the Lord of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch. 2 But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. 3 And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the Lord of hosts. 4 Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments. 5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord: 6 And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse."

Here is a new audio series on The Inspiration of Scriptures. It begins with an overview of the Reformation and then transitions into the inspired Word of God. As it says in 2 Timothy 3:14-17 KJV "14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; 15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works."

Paul’s prison epistles is a crucial study in the message for today because the Apostle Paul was designated to the Gentiles and he claimed he was given a special message revealed after Acts 28:28. The body of truth he reveals is called the Mystery. Here is an important series studying the prison epistles.
