The Apocalypse

The Apocalypse Study

This study looks at the book of Revelation from the perspective of Man, His Nature and Destiny which means the lessons will look at the judgments revealed in revelation as it pertains to man.  Whether or not the perspective of eternal torment for the lost is accurate as opposed to just perishing with the appropriate amount of punishment.  This study is best followed by the Man, His Nature and Destiny to provide the context of how by looking at Revelation we may expand our understanding of Man's destiny.

Lessons

The Apocalypse - Part 16

The lesson on April 10, 2016 was part 16 of "The Apocalypse" study.  Wayne opened up with commentary regarding the absolute necessity of Christ Jesus having been to two funerals over the past few weeks.  He and his father used to tag team funeral services to preach the gospel to the captured audience so that they may hear that life eternal is in Christ.  Without Him, you have nothing!  Afterwards, Wayne continued in Revelation looking into Chapter nine reviewing the Trumpets and Vials but the bottomless pit and covered Romans 10:7 and expounded on that the Angel who was given the key to open this abyss released judgment on those men who didn't have the seal of God in their foreheads.  The length of this judgment is five months vs. eternal punishment in the traditional "hell" perspective.  As we have learned, hell is simply a perishing not a destination of eternal punishment.  The scripture reading was in Deuteronomy 30:1-14 KJV

The Apocalypse - Part 17

The lesson on April 17, 2016 was part 17 of "The Apocalypse" study.   Wayne gave a brief review of the previous lesson and then focused on the Bottomless Pit and theorized that this is probably in another dimension.  Even if you imagine a cylinder whole going through the Earth in that it would be bottomless, the creatures that come out of this place are from another dimension given the description in Revelation.  Mathematically, it is easy to acknowledge a multi-dimensional place even though we cannot perceive beyond three dimensions here on Earth.  We then learned that God's wrath is dealt out for five months, not for eternity like the traditional view of hell suggests.  God's judgment is eternal but his punishment is time bound and ends with perishment.  The remaining part of the lesson was looking at Revelation 14:11 KJV and how it on the surface seems to suggest eternal punishment but really confirms the eternal judgment view by comparing what was said of Edom in Isaiah 34:9 KJV.  The scripture reading was from Revelation 9:12-21 KJV

The Apocalypse - Part 18

The lesson on April 24, 2016 was part 18 of "The Apocalypse" study.  Wayne gave a review of the last lesson then moved on to identify the latter times of our dispensation vs. the last days of the revealed plan for Israel.  There are many scriptures during Acts that speak to the end times which is revealed in Revelation but those writers of the Old and New Testament up through Acts 28 did not see the dispensation we live in now because it was revealed to PAul after the close of Acts.  PAul then writes seven books (Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, Titus, Philemon, 1 and 2 Timothy) that pertain to us in this age and PAul describes the latter times which seems prevalent now.  We don't know when our age will come to and end but we do know that the Return of Elijah is what starts the return to the revealed plan of God which involves the promises made to Israel.  The scripture reading was in Revelation 14:8-12 KJV

The Apocalypse - Part 19

The lesson on May 1, 2016 was part 19 of "The Apocalypse" study.  A review was given of the previous lesson and Wayne spent more time looking at the lessons we get from Christ's appearing, particularly in 2 Timothy 1:10 KJV where it says "But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel".  This lesson looked deeply at the first and second appearing of Christ, as well as death being destroyed as the enemy and bringing life and immortality.  The remainder of the lesson was reviewing chapter 10 where we learn that there is no more time for repentance because the 7th angel brings judgement.  We also learn what it means when it says the mystery of God should be finished where Wayne teaches us about the mysteries in scripture comparing it to The Mystery that was revealed to the Apostle PAul as the prisoner of Christ Jesus after Acts 28.  The scripture reading was in Revelation 10:1-7 KJV

The Apocalypse - Part 20

The lesson on May 8, 2016 was part 20 of "The Apocalypse" study.  Wayne reviewed the previous lesson but moved on to the subject for this lesson which was a place of preservation for Israel for three and a half years during the Tribulation.  The temple was given as a type in the Naos portion which was the holy part of the Temple.  We learned of the 144,000 male Jews preserved and sealed during this time in several passages in scripture:  "He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almight" Psalms 91: 1 KJV; "...to enquire in His temple. For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion: in the secret of His tabernacle shall He hide me; He shall set me up upon a rock" Psalms 27: 4, 5 KJV: "Thou shalt hide them in the secret of Thy presence from the pride of man: Thou shalt keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues"  Psalms 31: 20 KJV.  The latter part of the lesson looked at the Two Witness and the controversy surrounding who the may be.  The scripture reading was in Zechariah 4:1-6 KJV
