The Apocalypse

The Apocalypse Study

This study looks at the book of Revelation from the perspective of Man, His Nature and Destiny which means the lessons will look at the judgments revealed in revelation as it pertains to man.  Whether or not the perspective of eternal torment for the lost is accurate as opposed to just perishing with the appropriate amount of punishment.  This study is best followed by the Man, His Nature and Destiny to provide the context of how by looking at Revelation we may expand our understanding of Man's destiny.

Lessons

The Apocalypse - Part 21

The lesson on May 15, 2016 was part 21 of "The Apocalypse" study.  A review of the previous lesson opened up this lesson as usual, but the remaining part of the lesson really looked at the Two Witnesses in Revelation and how they are used to demonstrate God's position on the sins of the world but how He uses their death and resurrection after 3.5 days.  It is also very informative to study how in their intermediate state during their death and resurrection does not include any consciousness.  The intermediate state between death and resurrection does not exist.  We have learned that death is an enemy that causes one to perish but for Christ and His resurrection has given us the gift of life if we choose to receive it.  The scripture reading was from Revelation 11:14-19 KJV

The Apocalypse - Part 22

The lesson on May 22, 2016 was part 22 of "The Apocalypse" study.  An excellent overview of the context of Revelation was given in the first part of this lesson before Wayne moved on to chapter twelve and the looking into the stronghold of Satan and how he will be angry and try to destroy the preserved Israel but to no prevail.  This lesson looked at what PAul teaches us about the wickedness in high places that will be cast down to the Earth heading towards their destruction.  The scripture reading was in Revelation 12:12-17 KJV

The Apocalypse - Part 23

The lesson on June 5, 2016 was part 23 of "The Apocalypse" study. A review was given of the previous lesson where we learned of signs and Satan's stronghold and the abomination of desolation and the temple.  The new material was looking at chapter 13 Revelation which is greatly related to Daniel 7.  Prior to diving into this shared content between the books, Wayne puts forth a couple of ideas that come up as issues that need to be answered.  Primarily, in Ephesians 4:8 when the Lord ascended up on high when he led captivity captive, it is actually referring to angels and heavenly beings as opposed to the traditional view of emptying Abraham's bosom (which we learned was Saducee and Pharisee tradition which was not true).  We studied the term "led captivity captive" in relation to man, his nature and destiny. Will every human being receive a resurrection? This lesson starts to answer that question.  The scripture reading was in Daniel 7:15-20 KJV

The Apocalypse - Part 24

The lesson on June 12, 2016 was part 24 of "The Apocalypse" study. This lesson gave a review of the previous lesson in asking the question "will every person receive a resurrection?" but then started to explore the overlap of Daniel 7 with Revelation 13.  With this overlap, we see that there are insights into the two beasts, the one that comes out of the sea and the other out of earth.  A brief mention of the Book of Life was made but the majority of the lesson we studied how Daniel 7 provides us clarity on what the beasts are particularly the non-descriptive beast that is in Revelation 13. Daniel is helped with interpretation in his visions so we receive the help to understand the king, their kingdoms and the beast.   The scripture reading was from Daniel 7:25-28 KJV

The Apocalypse - Part 25

The lesson on June 19, 2016 was part 25 of "The Apocalypse" study.  A review was given of the previous lesson where we learned Daniel 7 helps us interpret Revelation 13 in that it helped us with the vision of the great beasts being kings with their kingdoms and allowed us to study who is the second beast with this lesson. We find the second beast is the false prophet and we learn about the mark of the beast and how it is imposed on everyone in that time to buy and sell and worship the beast.  The scripture reading was from Daniel 9:25-27 KJV
