The Apocalypse

The Apocalypse Study

This study looks at the book of Revelation from the perspective of Man, His Nature and Destiny which means the lessons will look at the judgments revealed in revelation as it pertains to man.  Whether or not the perspective of eternal torment for the lost is accurate as opposed to just perishing with the appropriate amount of punishment.  This study is best followed by the Man, His Nature and Destiny to provide the context of how by looking at Revelation we may expand our understanding of Man's destiny.

Lessons

The Apocalypse - Part 26

The lesson on June 26, 2016 was part 26 of "The Apocalypse" study.  A brief review was given of the previous lesson but the majority of this lesson was leading up to those we will believe "The Lie".  In revelation chapter 14 we learn of the 144,000 male Jews who are the remnant who will not be defiled of the immoral religious order during the time of Revelation.  An important note was made on these 144,000 being virgins has no context on the nature of marriage causing a person to become defiled and less of a Christian.  In Romans 1:22-32 KJV, we see how it seems to place particular emphasis on homosexuality as being evidence of sin becoming vile and turning against God but we are also reminded that not only homosexuality, but the entire list from verses 29-31 KJV (29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, 30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:).  This lesson also looks at the city of Sion or Zion and how God will use this as a place where he will preserve the 144,000 Jews during the tribulation.  The scripture reading was from Hebrews 12:22-25 KJV

The Apocalypse - Part 27

The lesson on July 3, 2016 was part 27 of "The Apocalypse" study.  This also was mingled with thoughts on America's Independence Day celebration.  Wayne gave a brief overview of the previous lesson where we learned about Sion or Zion being the center of Israel's salvation in the Tribulation but he moved on to teach us about the different gospels in scripture.  The term "gospel" simply means good news but the mention of gospel in scripture dictates that you look at the context to see which good news is being proclaimed.  We looked at three different gospels to make it apparent that those who teach that there is only one gospel is in error.  The gospel of the Kingdom is different than the gospel of the death, burial and resurrection of Christ Jesus... even the gospel of the unsearchable riches of Christ.  The scripture reading was in Revelation 14:9-14 KJV

The Apocalypse - Part 30

The lesson on August 21, 2016 was part 30 of "The Apocalypse" study.  When studying Revelation, having had 29 lessons on the subject so far, it is important to remind the students watching that we are part of a new calling which PAul calls The Mystery.  This new calling was hidden before the foundation of the world and was not a part of any other Old Testament or New Testament scripture until PAul reveals them in his last seven books (Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, Titus, Philemon and 1 & 2 Timothy).  In Revelation, there are all kinds of trails leading back to the Old Testmant, including Matthew because it is part of the revealed plan of God pertaining to Israel's calling and blessings.  Wayne took most of this lesson to make that point before proceeding with Revelation.  The scripture reading was from Joel 3:9-17 KJV
