The lesson on September 20, 2015 was part 41 of the "First Corinthians" study.  Resurrection is the continued focus in chapter fifteen.  Time is take to recap what we learned about the baptisms on behalf of the dead Christians so they will receive a benefit when they are raised to see those loved ones they left behind who are resurrected with them.  We learn about the context of Paul's statement on eating and drinking in lieu of the resurrection if there wasn't one. The lesson on September 27, 2015 was part 42 of the "First Corinthians" study.  A review of the previous lesson covered what Paul was teaching regarding resurrection.  In verse 51 Paul said something that will be a problem if you don't understand right division.  He says we shall not all die because we shall be changed.  What happened because Paul died.  The statement he made was true given the fact that there was a hidden condition that Israel had repented, and if they had, it would have happened.  Acts 28 the condition changed and unless you see the division in Paul's two ministries, you...

The lesson on October 4, 2015 was part 43 of the "First Corinthians" study.  A review of the previous topics included the sowing of seed in regards to the resurrection and the difference between the natural and spiritual state of the resurrected body.  We looked at how God created man out of clay and breathed into him a soul.  In Christ, the last Adam, provides us immortality and a raised body that was not corrupted.  This lesson starts chapter sixteen and looks at how Paul was writing these letters in response to the Corinthian church and that we should be careful not to take the...

First Corinthians - Part 44

The lesson on October 11, 2015 was part 44 and the last in the "First Corinthians" study.  A quick review of the previous lesson covered when death is covered up in victory with the resurrection.  We also learned that Christ's body did not see corruption.  This final lesson looked at how Paul wraps up his letters and reviewing all the individuals he mentions by name and what they brought to the ministry in the Corinthian church.  We are encouraged to do the work of Paul as he says Timothy was doing, even though he was a young man.  We can do the work of Paul if we understand his ministry...
