Questions to Ponder

The lesson on December 30, 2012 was a testimony by Wayne Stewart in how he came to know Christ and then later came to understand Right Division which was the antedote for all the questions he was pondering after he was saved when he found confusion and fear in the church.  The scripture reading was from 2 Timothy 1:13-18 KJV "13 Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. 14 That good thing which was committed unto thee keep by the Holy Ghost which dwelleth in us. 15 This thou knowest, that all they which are in Asia be turned away from me; of whom are Phygellus and Hermogenes. 16 The Lord give mercy unto the house of Onesiphorus; for he oft refreshed me, and was not ashamed of my chain: 17 But, when he was in Rome, he sought me out very diligently, and found me. 18 The Lord grant unto him that he may find mercy of the Lord in that day: and in how many things he ministered unto me at Ephesus, thou knowest very well."

God's Plan - Part 2

The lesson on December 23, 2012 was a continuation of the lesson from the previous week looking at God's plan in relation to the birth of Christ which is the most amazing story in the world.  The scripture reading was from Luke 2:1-8 KJV "1 And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed. 2 (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.) 3 And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city. 4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:) 5 To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child. 6 And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. 7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. 8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night."

God's Plan

The lesson on December 16, 2012 was a look at God's Plan in relation to the birth of Christ. The scripture reading was in Matthew 1:18-25 KJV "18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. 19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily. 20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. 21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. 22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, 23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. 24 Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife: 25 And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS."

Four Days in Scripture - Part 13

The lesson on December 9, 2012 continued the "Four Days in Scripture" study with part 13 and began looking at the Day of the Lord.  It provided a wrap up of the Day of Christ and began to look at the three "rapture" positions of when it may occur (Pre-Trib, Mid-Trib, and Post-Trib).  The scripture reading was in 1 Thessalonians 5:1-9 KJV "1 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. 2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. 3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. 4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. 5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. 6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. 7 For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. 8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. 9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,"

Four Days in Scripture - Part 12

The lesson on December 2, 2012 continued the "Four Days in Scripture" study with part 12 and was closing on the Day of Christ.  It started to look at the "rapture" theories of Pre-Trib, Mid-Trib, and Post-Trib and finished the 70 weeks of Daniel 9.  This is a great lesson to listen to for understanding prophecy rightly divided.  The scripture reading was from Micah 4:1-5 KJV "1 But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the house of the Lord shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and people shall flow unto it.
