Armor of God

Armor of God

Eph 6:11-18

Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

Right division has much to say about this important subject. The Acts 28 boundary has brought with it many changes and the armor supplied by God as mentioned in Eph 6:11-18 is no exception.How are we to function and with what armor should we fight the good fight of faith? How is the armor defined in this age?

"THE MYSTERY" Its Reality, The Practical Side (Ephesians Chapters 4 through 6)

The Mystery, Its Reality, The Practical SideSince The Mvstery is a body of many truths addressed to God's people (Col. 1:26), the practical side would of necessity have to do with the walk. "As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in Him." (Col. 2:6) The instructions in this context are no less forthright: "Work out your own salvation (deliverance) for it is God who is energizing you to His purposes." (Phil. 2:12, 13 and 16).  The walk that is worthy begins in meekness and endeavors to keep (not create) the unity of the Spirit (Eph. 4:1-3). Thus, Faith-Obedience in the walk turns on seven distinct fundamental points of stewardship (Eph. 4:4-6). These seven points will be discussed at the end of this article.{C}{C}{C}{C}

The lesson on June1, 2014 was part 29 and the last one in the "Ephesians" study.  Wayne finished the study with a challenge to all of us to be more bold in our verbal witness just like PAul did who was asking for prayer that he may be bold in his witness for the gospel of peace. This study has shown the doctrinal side and practical of Ephesians and how to identify the prison ministry of PAul.  When you finally see the difference between Paul's two ministries, you have struck gold!  This lesson is a great summary and this study series is complete. The scripture reading was from Ephesians 6:18-24 KJV

Ephesians - Part 28

The lesson on May 25, 2014 was part 28 of the "Ephesians" study and celebrated Memorial Day in the America by studying the whole armor of God.  The lesson started with a review of Ephesians in how it was written by the Apostle PAul as a prisoner of Jesus Christ post Acts 28 when he was now authorized to preach to the Gentiles first. PAul wrote 6 chapters in Ephesians and it is perfectly balanced where the first three chapters are doctrinal truth for our age today and the last three chapters are the practical section showing us how to walk today.  This lesson then covered the whole armor of God that we are supposed to put on today.  This is in contrast to the armor of God that the christians put on the the gospel or Acts period.  Wayne showed us the armor the apostles were to put on during the gospels by taking us through verses in Luke.  The comparison showed that if you attempt to put on armor intended for another group in another age, disaster is sure to be the result.  The warning comes to us about the wiles of the devil and he is the one that is energizing this confusion in Christianity today, causing the church to be divided.  That is why Christians today have become wimps on issues where they should be united to stand.  The scripture reading was in Ephesians 6:10-18 KJV

Ephesians - Part 28
February 21st, 2010

The lesson on February 21, 2010 was the 4th lesson on the subject of fear.  The source of fear is the devil and it's important to be familiar with his devices.  We are told in Ephesians to beware of the wiles of the devil which is why God gave us the Armor of God.  We have already received victory over the devil through calvary but he is actively trying to give us fear today to make us a casualty in our walk.  In John 5:24 Jesus said in John 5:24 KJV "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life." {C}

March 30th, 2009

The lesson on March 29, 2009 covers Romans 7:15-18 and continues the Romans Study audio series with this eighth lesson. There is a warfare waging and we are right in the middle of it. The scripture reading today was a tongue twister but it shows the struggle that Paul was going through in this warfare. God has given us the solution to the battle and we find it in the bible. All we have to do is yield ourselves to the word of God and appropriate in our lives and we win the battle!

June 8th, 2008

This lesson was given on June 8, 2008 on "Prayer" as part of a study on the armor of God found in Ephesians 6. The scripture reading was from Ephesians 6:10-12 "10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Elijah was one of the most feared prophets in the Bible. He appears from out of nowhere before Ahab, king of Israel, announcing it would not rain for a few years (1 Kings 18.) We later learn the drought lasted for 3½ years. King Ahab set out to punish Elijah, but his pursuit was in vain until Elijah decided to show himself and set up a showdown with Ahab’s ministerial council. Myriads of sermons have been preached on Elijah’s prayer and God answering it by sending fire from heaven to vindicate Elijah.
