Revelation

1 ¶  The Revelation of Jesus Christ,

The book of revelation must be read from a "shortly come to pass" perspective -- Rev 1:1, 3. The book touches on many interesting topics not only matters to do with events leading up to and including the day of the Lord but also beyond the New Heavens and earth into the day of the age.

The Apocalypse - Part 45

The lesson on December 4, 2016 was part 45 of "The Apocalypse" study.  This is the last lesson in this study.  Wayne reviews what was covered in the previous lesson, where we learned how mans soul perishes with his body upon death.  Scripture tells us that man is like the animals in how they die and return to dust.  This is true without the hope of the Jesus Christ and the resurrection.  We have learned about the first and second resurrection of the tribulation and how these are particular to Israel.  We learn in this lesson of the unique calling we have in this age specifies where we will be after our recurrection, which is different than that of Israel, which is know as His people.  They have a special relationship with New Jerusalem which is the mother of them all (as Paul declared in his first ministry).  The scripture reading was from Revelation 22:16-21 KJV

The Apocalypse - Part 44

The lesson on November 27, 2016 was part 44 of "The Apocalypse" study.  This lesson looks at Revelation chapters 21 and 22 to learn about New Jerusalem that comes down from heaven to set up God's tabernacle hear on Earth.  It is amazing to read of the New Earth and how God transform the Earth to be without the sea.  This New Jerusalem and New Earth is specifically in relation to His people.  We take time to look at what God means by His people and ask are we included in that phrase?  We look at Paul's statement in Galatians 4:25-26 when he says "Jerusalem, which is above is free, and the mother of us all."  Wayne reminds us that this fits with Paul's first ministry before Acts 28 when he was ministering to Israel.  After Acts 28, Paul reveals his second ministry where we learn of our unique calling that was hidden from the Old Testament prophets and was hidden in God, before the foundation of the world.  Since we are a part of this calling, New Jerusalem is not the mother of us today.  The scripture reading was from Revelation 21:1-8 KJV

The Apocalypse - Part 43

The lesson on November 20, 2016 was part 43 of "The Apocalypse" study.  This lesson continued to review what we have learned in chapter 20 of Revelation, particularly in relation to the first and second resurrection in relation to the Great White Throne Judgement and who it pertains to.  We also look at the great house spoken of in 2 Timothy 2:20 to learn how life is received as a free gift to those who accept Christ and rewards are given to those who do good works.  The consistency of Revelation in how it applies to the nation of Israel is pointed out from old testament scripture that was given in Exodus 19:4-6 KJV.  The scripture reading was from Revelation 20:11-15 KJV

The Apocalypse - Part 42

The lesson on November 13, 2016 was part 42 of "The Revelation" study.  Wayne gives a quick review of the Presidential Election in America and how God my be giving the United States an opportunity to come back to Him.  In doing so, we learned how the losers of this election were practicing Satanic rituals that played right into the Babylonian doctrine showing how those will be duped by this religion when the they perform miracles and demonstrate power.  As the lesson started, we again are learning how we don't have an immortal soul.  When we die, the life that was given with the soul has perished.  If it were not for the resurrection, there would be no life.  For those who have accepted Christ as their savior, will have eternal life.  Those who don't will perish after receiving their respective punishment.  The scripture reading was from Exodus 19:3-6 KJV

The Apocalypse - Part 41

The lesson on November 6, 2016 was part 41 of "The Apocalypse" study.  This week, we looked at the Clarence Larkin chart entitled "The Underworld" and looked at how their are some errors due to the fact that we learned in Luke 16 that the description of the intermediate state was a belief of the Pharisees and the Lord used that description against them.  We have learned that there is life through resurrection or you perish.  That is it.  There is no intermediate state of the believer.  The later part of the lesson continued looking at the 1000 year period when Christ is ruling here on Earth and we looked at how there will be a seismic event on the Earth when the Lord returns. Satan is bound for this period and let loose at the end.  The scripture reading was from Psalms 146:1-10 KJV

The conclusion from this short survey is that John is looking back at Israel from the perspective that she had rejected her Messiah and then John uses well placed signs to show among other things that Jesus is Messiah and that believing "the world" in light of Israel's defection can have life through His name. This is not the perspective of the Revelation! Rather the Patmos vision is a translation into the time near during and after the day of the Lord.

Revelation 12:3-9 KJV

3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. 4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born. 5 And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne. 6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days. 7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, 8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. 9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

The Great White Thrown Judgment and Renovation of the Earth by Fire

After the Millennium, there is a renovation of the Earth by fire (2 Peter 3:10-12, Rev. 21:1). This is where the Great White Throne Judgement For Wicked is held (Rev. 20:11-15) At this time is a Second Resurrection while Satan finally meets his doom (Rev. 20:10) along with the Wicked Dead when both are sentenced to the Lake of Fire (Rev. 20:14-15).

The New Heavens and the New Earth - Day of God

The Perfect Dispensation 2 Peter 3:12-13 (Holiness) The New Heavens and The New Earth. This is the Dispensation of The Fullness of Times (Deu. 7:9) and the Day of God (click here to learn more about the different “Days” in scripture). This is where the third heaven comes down to Earth and it is paradise (compare 2 Cor. 12:2,4 with 2 Peter 3:6.7,13). The former heavens and earth have passed away, everything is brand new and fresh from the Hand of God. It is not the end of the world as some have said, but rather the beginning of the New Age. It is, in fact, "paradise restored." Think of that!!! It is not just the restoration of all things, but the restoration of "The" all things (Col. 1:20). "The" all things having to do with that which God called "good." Compare Romans 8:28, "All Things," with Romans 8:32, "The All Things," to understand the distinction.

The Holy City

We behold a city prepared of God coming down out of Heaven prepared as a bride for her husband. The husband is the lamb. John 14:2 makes mention of this place. It is the city that Abraham sought (Hebrews 11:10,16). The twelve gates are of pearl. Each gate is one single pearl. Each gate is named after one of the twelve tribes of Israel. There are twelve foundations, each one of a different kind of stone. The colors in the stones are also different. Each foundation is named after one of the twelve apostles. The city is of pure gold, like unto clear glass. Likewise the streets are paved with pure gold. It is a perfect square 1500 miles high (12,000 furlongs) in each direction. The city itself is also 1500 miles high. Some believe it is in the shape of a pyramid. A jasper wall 144 cubits high (about 300 ft.) surrounds the city. The gates are never closed. There is no need of the sun or moon since the Lord is the light thereof. No night is there. Only the redeemed of all nations may enter. . . all others are outside. The water of life is its river, and it flows from the throne of God. In the middle of the street and on either side of the river is the Tree of Life. It yields twelve manner of fruits each month. The leaves of the tree are for healings. All of the redeemed shall see the Lamb face to face. It is here that the redeemed of the nations (mankind as a whole) finally stands (consist) complete (Rev. 21:24). There is no more crying, no death, no more curse . . . THIS IS PARADISE!!!

You may want to listen to the study "Four Days in Scripture" which explains more about the Day of God.

The Great Tribulation

The great tribulation is divided into two equal periods of 1260 days each. During this time there will be the judgement of the Jews Ez. 20:34-38, 22:19-22; Jer. 30:4 -7; dan. 12:1. The day of the Anti-Christ when the Anti-Christ is accepted John 5:43 The Kingdom is counterfeited.

The happenings at this time introduce the Day of The Lord (Rev. 1:10; Isa. 2:11-17; Joel; Matt. 24, etc.). It is the day of the Lord’s wrath (Rev. 6:7). In the Old Testament it is called “Jacob’s Trouble” (Jer. 30:7). In the New Testament, it’s better known as “The Great Tribulation” (Matt. 24:21)
