The scripture reading was in Romans 10:1-4 and was given on May 3 , 2009 and is part 11 of the Romans Study. Romans Chapter 9 thru Romans Chapter 11 is the dispensational section of Romans. In part 10, we looked at dispensational change and made it clear we need to pay attention when those occur. In Romans, Paul is preaching the Gospel of Grace. Today we are in a Dispensation of Grace which is different than Paul’s Gospel. Paul refers to this gospel of grace in Acts 20:24 “But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.” That is what Paul is preaching in Romans. Today, we are in the dispensation of grace as Paul says in Ephesians 3:1-2 “For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles, If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to youward:” Notice how the audience is no longer Israel. A dispensational change occurred and now we are in the dispensation of the grace of God and Paul calls that The Mystery in Ephesians 3:9, which was part of the hidden purpose. Paul was addressing a problem with Israel that was stated in Romans 9:31 “But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness.”. They had not attained righteousness because the missed one key piece… faith. They tried to achieve righteousness by works. Romans 10:3 suggests ignorance and pride made Israel fail but God had the solution in verse 4, “For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.” They needed to accept Christ and His righteousness.
