The final lesson in the Romans Study was given on August 30, 2009. The lesson serves as a springboard into a study of the mysteries of the prison epistles where there are 12 references, 10 of those are in Ephesians and Colossians, and two are in Timothy and they all have a bearing on our private mail. But before we go there, this lesson finishes off the Romans Study by looking more into Paul’s Gospel. In review, we learn that God began to deal with man in the garden with Adam. Sin overtook man in the garden so God started dealing with mankind and sin overtook mankind. God wiped man out except for Noah and his family. Then in Genesis 12 God begins to deal with Abraham and his seed. We see from Gen. 12 to Matt. 1, God takes 2000 years of time. He took 2000 years of time from Genesis 1 thru 12. During this 4000 years, things were hushed up in scripture but through Paul’s Gospel, he begins revealing them to those who could read the word in Romans. Not only that in Romans, but all of Paul’s writings during the Acts period. In Acts 17:30-31 ”And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.” This was Paul speaking at Mars Hill to Gentiles and Jews alike. Paul’s Gospel was not just to the Jew, but also to the Greek. It was to the Jew and Gentile even though it did not begin that way. When the Jew started rejecting the message then Paul started taking it to the Gentile (to provoke Israel to jealousy – Romans 11:11). Paul writes in Romans 16:25 “ Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,” here he is revealing things that have been hushed up in scripture. Just like it says in Psalms 40:1-2 “I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.” This passage in Psalms is an illustration of the statement in Romans 16:25 where it says God has the power to stablish you, according to Paul’s Gospel.
