The Beginning of the End. Leland Maples was the guest teacher on July 12, 2009 and he started by saying he wanted to talk to us because if he taught and preached, it would be lost since we are far beyond help. The topic “The Beginning of the End” is not about prophecy in the Bible, but rather, it is about the United States of America. The scripture reading was Ecclesiastes 1:9-12 “The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun. Is there any thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been already of old time, which was before us. There is no remembrance of former things; neither shall there be any remembrance of things that are to come with those that shall come after. I the Preacher was king over Israel in Jerusalem.” We are a pretty proud generation and we think we’ve come up with some pretty neat things. America is a unique nation because it is the only nation that was formed by Godly men who understood the need to have dependence on God. But the country iis in dire straights. We have murder made legal with abortion. We are seeing euthanasia coming into the forefront because the elderly is too expensive to keep around on Medicare. We have lost the respect of discipline. We have hate speech instead of free speech. Speaking against homosexuals as a perversion of the flesh will be condemned as hate speech. Global warming is taught as true but there is evidence that it is a lie. We teach evolution in schools when we know that is a lie. You woulld have thought we would have seen somebody evolve by now if that were true. The Bible is taken out of our schools and we have learned to live with it. Two of the worst words in the english language is compromise and tolerance. Jesus was sure tolerant with the money changers in the temple! Our Bill of Rights has not stopped the slide we have seen in the country. Today the number one addition is no longer drugs and alcohol, today it is pornography.
