Leland Maples runs the LOOP’s Ministries (Loved Ones Of Prisoners) and leads a Thursday night bible study held in the Rec Room at Life Change Baptist Church in Odessa Texas.  The Rec Room message on Thursday, September 9th was entitled “The Fear of the Lord.”  Special music was by Strauss McCreary at this meeting.  The message spoke that the fear of the Lord is a forgotten subject in our culture.  The phrase “the fear of the Lord” occurs 30 times in scripture.    In this lesson, you will learn 1.  What the fear of the Lord is not.  2. What the fear of the Lord is.  3.  Why should we fear the Lord.   The first mention is in Job 28:28. “And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.”
