The lesson on September 11, 2011 honored the 10 year anniversary of the terrorist attack on America in New York and Washington DC on September 11, 2011.  Ten years ago 19 Al-Qaeda terrorist coordinated four attacks by hijacking passenger planes and flying them into the two World Trade Center buildings and the Pentagon.  The fourth plane was commandeered again by the passengers and crashed in Western Pennsylvania prior to reaching its intended target.  This lesson opens with a remembrance about that event 10 years ago and then teaches about prayer by using the acronym P.R.A.Y. which stands for praying Persistantly, Respectfully, Authoritatively, and Yearningly and there were scripture examples to go with each letter. The scripture reading was in Philippians 4:4-7 KJV “4 Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. 5 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. 6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
