Lessons

The lesson on April 27, 2014 was part 24 of the “Ephesians” study.  This lesson opens up review the Null Hypothesis used when evaluating something changed at Acts 28.  We learned that if you move the border anywhere in Acts, the argument that nothing changed holds true.  However, when you cross the boundary of Acts 28 and you come to Ephesians, we find that enormous things have changed.  There is a new hope, a new man, a new body (where Christ is the head).  Further, there are no signs and wonders where Israel is being judged (Lo-Ammi).  There are 3 points that this lesson teaches:  1) You have not so (in this way) learned Christ, and 2) Renewal occurs in and by the spirit of your mind, and 3) We need to put away the lie. The scripture reading was from Ephesians 4:20-25 KJV “20 But ye have not so learned Christ; 21 If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus: 22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; 23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; 24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. 25 Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.”
