The lesson on December 14, 2014 was part 12 of the “First Corinthians” study.  At the beginning of chapter 5, we see that Paul is correcting the Corinthians with the apostlic authorithy that was present during the Acts period.  This confirms that the doctrine promoted in Corinthians is placed in the context of the Acts period and not of the Church of the One Body which we are a part of today.  When Acts ended, there was revealed a hidden truth that removed the apostlic authority that was present during the Acts period.  We can learn some great practicle truths in Corinthians but we cannot expect immediate judgement as demonstrated in Acts 15 with Ananias and Sapphira. Apostlic correction was with power and the rod they used was pretty severe.  That is not true today because in this period of The Mystery, God has created a dispensation of grace where judgements are saved until a later time.  The scripture reading was from 1 Corinthains 5:1-5 KJV “1 It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father’s wife. 2 And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you. 3 For I verily, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were present, concerning him that hath so done this deed, 4 In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, 5 To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.”
