The lesson on February 22, 2015 was part 19 of the “First Corinthians” study.  This lesson finishes chapter seven and completely addresses the subject of marriage in the Acts period when time was short due to the pending return of Christ if Israel had accepted Jesus Christ as Messiah.  We see how Paul in Corinthians (which is an Acts period epistle) teaches that one should not marry to serve the Lord better because of the necessities of their ministry.  However, Paul says it was better to marry if you could not keep yourself pure but it is better if one would not marry if he could.  We then see that when Israel did not repent and accept Christ as Messiah, the Acts 28:28 judgement changed the ministry of the Mystery, which is our present age.  In this time, we are encourage to marry because those that are forbidding to marry are part of the doctrine of devils (1 Timothy 4:1-3 KJV).   The scripture reading was in 1 Corinthians 7:29-34 KJV

“29 But this I say, brethren, the time is short: it remaineth, that both they that have wives be as though they had none; 30 And they that weep, as though they wept not; and they that rejoice, as though they rejoiced not; and they that buy, as though they possessed not; 31 And they that use this world, as not abusing it: for the fashion of this world passeth away. 32 But I would have you without carefulness. He that is unmarried careth for the things that belong to the Lord, how he may please the Lord: 33 But he that is married careth for the things that are of the world, how he may please his wife. 34 There is difference also between a wife and a virgin. The unmarried woman careth for the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit: but she that is married careth for the things of the world, how she may please her husband.”
