Lessons

The lesson on June 26, 2016 was part 26 of “The Apocalypse” study.  A brief review was given of the previous lesson but the majority of this lesson was leading up to those we will believe “The Lie”.  In revelation chapter 14 we learn of the 144,000 male Jews who are the remnant who will not be defiled of the immoral religious order during the time of Revelation.  An important note was made on these 144,000 being virgins has no context on the nature of marriage causing a person to become defiled and less of a Christian.  In Romans 1:22-32 KJV, we see how it seems to place particular emphasis on homosexuality as being evidence of sin becoming vile and turning against God but we are also reminded that not only homosexuality, but the entire list from verses 29-31 KJV (29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, 30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:).  This lesson also looks at the city of Sion or Zion and how God will use this as a place where he will preserve the 144,000 Jews during the tribulation.  The scripture reading was from Hebrews 12:22-25 KJV

“22 But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, 23 To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, 24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel. 25 See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven:”
