The lesson on October 9, 2016 was part 37 of “The Apocalypse” study.  This lesson looked at the three theories that identifies the Babylon spoken of in Revelation 17.  First, some think that Babylon is really the Roman line of the Catholic church, stemming from Nimrod (set forth in the book “The Two Babylons: Or, the Papal Worship Proved to Be the Worship of Nimrod” by Alexander Hislop).  Second, Pastor McLain set forth that Babylon is really Jerusalem (which he taught in his Mystery Babylon study in January of 1987).  The third theory is set forth by Wayne in that the Babylon of Revelation 17 is in fact the city of Babylon rebuilt that will receive destruction within one hour.  He sets forth that the problem with it being Jerusalem is the promises to Israel requires the perpetuity of Jerusalem which means in cannot receive the judgement described for Babylon.  The scripture reading was from Psalms 2:6-9 KJV

“6 Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion. 7 I will declare the decree: the Lord hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee. 8 Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. 9 Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.”
