Lessons

The lesson on April 14, 2019 was part 11 of the “Genesis” study.  Wayne summarized the focus on Free Will and God’s sovereignty in how He does not cause sin or evil acts but once men choose to do evil, as God He then can further harden their heart until they perform an evil act but God can use it for good. For example we see “eyes have they closed” which was ordained by man! As the evil act gets closer, “eyes are further closed by God”.  Then when the evil act happens it is ordained by God for use to His purpose.  We looked at Romans 5:12 and studied the phrase “for all have sinned” and looked at two issues. Are we guilty of Adam’s sin (in one man) or are we guilty only of our own personal sin (because of one man)? We looked at Deuteronomy 24:16 which indicated the latter.  We are not held responsible for Adam’s sin but we do suffer from it.  The calvinist prefer the that we are guilty of Adam’s sin.  Wayne was using the fact that we are guilty only of our own personal sin could possibly solve the issue of the death of a baby or child.  God who is righteous will resurrect the aborted child, baby or adolescent child who die before they commit their own sin.  The scripture reading was from Romans 5:12-16 KJV

“12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: 13 (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law. 14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come. 15 But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. 16 And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification.”
