Lessons

The lesson on June 2, 2019 was part 15 of the Genesis study.  Wayne recapped this week how Genesis brought us to the Temple sub-study he has been focusing on these last several weeks because in Eden God placed the Tree of Life and it had the power to overcome death by sin that was incurred by Adam when he sinned.  That is why God placed the Cherubim in Eden to guard the Tree of Life in case sinners would eat of it and live forever.  There is the primal need for all of us to get access to the tree of life and that is what we have with access to the true Temple in the body where Christ is head.  In this review, Wayne shows the full context of how the Temple is a part of today’s calling in a post Acts 28 context.  He then takes time to look at the Ark of the Covenant which was put in the Temple and we learned where God opened the portal between where He dwells in the heavenlies and between the Cherubim on the top of the Ark above were the blood was offered to forgive Israel of their sins when the priest made a blood offering. Lastly he pointed out the there is no written evidence that the Ark was put back in the second Temple because their was commentary about the first Temple was filled with the glory of God but the second, not so much. The scripture reading was from 1 Samuel 4:19-22 KJV

“19 And his daughter in law, Phinehas’ wife, was with child, near to be delivered: and when she heard the tidings that the ark of God was taken, and that her father in law and her husband were dead, she bowed herself and travailed; for her pains came upon her. 20 And about the time of her death the women that stood by her said unto her, Fear not; for thou hast born a son. But she answered not, neither did she regard it. 21 And she named the child Ichabod, saying, The glory is departed from Israel: because the ark of God was taken, and because of her father in law and her husband. 22 And she said, The glory is departed from Israel: for the ark of God is taken.”
