The lesson on September 29, 2019 was part 26 of the “Genesis” study.  Wayne reviewed the doctrine that was established in Genesis 3 when Adam fell and with Eve, they had made themselves fig leave clothing because they knew they were naked.  God didn’t accept their clothing because he gave them some skins from a slain animal.  He established that forgiveness required the shedding of blood of an innocent animal.  This doctrine was in place before the birth of Cain and Abel in chapter four of Genesis where we learn from the brothers display of obedience and rebellion.  Although Cain was a tiller of the ground which is what God had made man to do, he didn’t worship like he was commanded.  Abel offered a sacrifice that pleased God but Cain offered the fruit of his own works.  This was not what God had established.  What we see in this worship is what religion is in God’s.  There are really only two religions, one that offers works for salvation and the other that recognizes there is no forgiveness unless they have blood shed for their sins.  God had promised the seed of the woman would bruise the head of the serpent, and in doing so was the first promise of a Savior in Christ and his shed blood.  The remainder of the lesson reviewed some key truths about dispensational study to learn what applies to us in this age.  The scripture reading was from Ephesians 4:1-8 KJV

“1 I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, 2 With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; 3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. 4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; 5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. 7 But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ. 8 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.”
