The lesson on October 6, 2019 was part 27 of the “Genesis” study and Wayne opened with a review of the context of the question, “Why are their gifts apparent after Acts 28 when the Mystery had been given”?  This is thoroughly explained in the Acts 29 study but the first 20 minutes of today’s lesson revisited the impact of the believers who had been given gifts prior to Acts 28 that flowed into the new calling and needed to be built up, that is why PAul wrote in Ephesians 4:12 “For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:”.  Post Acts 28, the Apostles and Prophets needed to “stir up” gifts to the Body of Christ who were learning “The Mystery” and were transitioning into the body of whom Christ is head.  The scripture reading was in 1 Corinthians 12:27-31 KJV

“27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular. 28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. 29 Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles? 30 Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret? 31 But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.”
