The lesson on November 10, 2019 was part 32 of the “Genesis” study.  This week Wayne took us through chapter 4 and 5 which gave us the posterity of Cain and Seth and showed that their were some descendants who had similar names and in some cases the same name like Enoch and Lamech.  The reason why God inspired Moses to provide this detail shows that the line of Cain and Seth are similar but not the same.  We see the longevity of Adamic man after the expulsion from Eden which decays over time.  God wanted us to learn of the doctrinal differences of these two lines.  Wayne challenged us to compare the differences in scripture so you may rightly divide.  The example he showed us was the name “church”.  We looked at several passages referring to a church but Wayne to the time to give the context of each reference so we learned the word “church” means simply a called out group.  Many religious denominations are claiming to be part of a church that is actually a group called for Israel.  You can’t claim to have keys to a church that were not given to you.  The scripture reading was from Hebrews 11:1-6 KJV

“1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. 2 For by it the elders obtained a good report. 3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. 4 By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh. 5 By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God. 6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”
