The lesson on October 25, 2020 was part 3 of the summary of “John’s Gospel” study and completed the study.  In wrapping up what we learned about the uniqueness of this Gospel apart from Matthew, Mark and Luke was that it was the unique ministry given to John by Christ which really was a two-fold ministry like the Apostle Paul had.  Paul had the two-fold ministry the to Jew first and then the Gentile.(during Acts).  John had the two-fold ministry to the “guests” to the marriage supper of the lamb (with no adoption) and “the world” after Acts 28.  We also learned how Jesus Christ told Peter, in answering his question about John’s ministry, that it was none of his business.  Never mind what I have John doing, Peter, follow me and feed my sheep. This is similar what is expressed when Paul warned in 2 Corinthians 10:16 not to boast in another man’s line of things.   The scripture reading was from Galatians 2:7-9 KJV

“7 But contrariwise, when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed unto me, as the gospel of the circumcision was unto Peter; 8 (For he that wrought effectually in Peter to the apostleship of the circumcision, the same was mighty in me toward the Gentiles:) 9 And when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given unto me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship; that we should go unto the heathen, and they unto the circumcision.”
