William Henry was born in Glasgow in 1949. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant and worked in the accountancy profession before entering academia, where he spent 25 years in teaching and research. At present he is an education consultant working with undergraduate and postgraduate students. He lives in Glasgow with his wife and two daughters.
