Acts 29 - Part 10

The lesson on June 10, 2018 was part 10 of the "Acts 29" study.  Wayne took us on a tour of Old Testament scriptures to show us text and prophecies that will help us bring clarity to the Acts 29 proposition, which is the judgement that was given to Israel in Acts 28:28 was not the final one.  Today's lesson explained how the judgement on Israel was DeJure in Matthew 13:14 KJV but then considered DeFacto in A.D. 70 when Jerusalem was destroyed.  In making this stance, God continued his highways and byways ministry through Acts 28 until AD 70.  PAul was given The Mystery at some time after...

Acts 29 - Part 9

The lesson on June 3, 2018 was part 9 of the "Acts 29" study.  In this lesson, Wayne takes a deep look into the prophets to see how they may be used to get more clarity around the events represented by the timeframe of Acts 29, that being the missionary journey's of Paul after Acts 28:31.  We looked at Appendix 77 of the Companion Bible to see how E.W. Bullinger had laid out the chronological order of the prophets to see if they could be used to help us understand the Acts period and post-Acts transition.  In doing...

Acts 29 - Part 8

The lesson on May 27, 2018 was part 8 of the "Acts 29" study.  Wayne reviewed what we learned last time and then spent the remaining lesson starting to answer the questions presented from part 7:  1) What happens when Israel becomes Lo-ammi? 2) Does the prophecy stop? and 3) Does God stop using Israel’s prophets?  God does use the prophets when Israel is in Lo-ammi status!  Wayne shows us by comparing Ezekiel 12:2  to Acts 28:23-28.  Judgment – Now and in the immediate future and also distant future BUT there is promise of deliverance prophecied in Ezekiel 11:16-25 and Ezekiel 34:11-31. ...

Acts 29 - Part 7

The lesson on May 20, 2018 was part 7 of the "Acts 29" study.  Wayne briefly reviewed what we learned in part 6 and proceeded to take us on a journey to better understand the transition from Acts 28:31 to the revelation of The Mystery.  The microscope is looking at the evidence of how the Kingdom of God, which was referenced 7 times in Acts the last being in verse 31 which is the last verse.  The next time PAul brings it up is in Colossians 4:11 KJV when he is describing those of the circumcision that were fellow workers in the Kingdom of God.  PAul specifically calls them fellow workers...

Acts 29 - Part 6

The lesson on May 13, 2018 was part 6 of the "Acts 29" study.  Wayne gave us a brief review of last week but spent most of the time comparing Acts 28:25-28 KJV "25 And when they agreed not among themselves, they departed, after that Paul had spoken one word, Well spake the Holy Ghost by Esaias the prophet unto our fathers, 26 Saying, Go unto this people, and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and not perceive: 27 For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see...

Acts 29 - Part 5

The lesson on May 6, 2018 was part 5 of the "Acts 29" study.  Wayne having returned from the Truth for Today conference, he gave a brief recap and then continued with the Acts 29 study by looking at the word "Pragmatics" in Greek and showed how in Luke 1:1, it is has been translated to say "declaration of those things" which describe the actions of the Christ and the apostles.  It is again used in Luke 19:13 with the word "occupy".  This verse is asking the believers to do the same actions until Christ returns.  How appropriate the name of the Book of Acts is "Acts of the Apostles" because...

Acts 29 - Part 4

The lesson on April 22, 2018 was part 4 of the "Acts 29" study.  We quickly reviewed what we learned last time and then Wayne focused on the evidence of Paul's journey's between his first imprisonment and his last where he was beheaded.  This study is taking a magnifying glass to the activities of Paul from Acts 28 to the end of 2 Timothy.  Why was there an abrupt end to Acts 28 and where was the end?  When Luke recorded in Acts 28:31 that Paul was "Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him." What...

Acts 29 - Part 3

The lesson on April 15, 2018 was part 3 of the"Acts 29" study.  This week Wayne did a short review of last weeks lesson but eventually focused our attention on the codex, especially Papyrus 46.  He is reading the notes around the writing and it is the oldest manuscript that confirms Paul's writings.  Parts of the texts show Nomina sacra, which are special abbreviations which appear in New Testament texts. Unlike most...

Acts 29 - Part 2

The lesson on April 8, 2018 was part 2 of the "Acts 29" study. This week Wayne recaped the idea of studying Paul's movements after the close of Acts and in doing so following a model which may need to be updated if we find additional information to update our prior position.  Wayne displayed his previous model focusing on Acts 28:28 and the revelation of The Mystery.  In association with this belief was the term "the body of Christ" referred to us after Acts 28 and the mention of that in Corinthians was okay because they just got grafted in after Acts 28.  Wayne declared that this prior...

Passover - Easter 2018

The message on August 1, 2018 was on the Passover and was our Easter lesson for 2018.  Wayne took time to look at the Passover feast because of two main issues.  First it tells the story of how Israel was brought out of bondage from the "type of the world" which was Egypt under the blood of the Passover lamb. We learned that in Exodus 12, this feast was the beginning of the new year for Israel.  This is a great type in picture of a Christian's new life made possible by Christ and His sacrifice.  The fact that PAul still talks about Jesus the Christ which is the same before and after Acts...
