Above All, Faith. Ephesians 6:16 (KJV) says “Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.” Paul tells us that above all, we are to use the shield of faith to stand against the wiles of the Devil. To the mature Christian, the importance of faith is most assuredly known. Yet the new creature in Christ needs to be built up in a faith that is most holy. There are verses that tell us this fact: Romans 10:17 (KJV) “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Hebrews 11:6 (KJV) “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” The lesson on August 10, 2003 covers the foundation of a Christians armor, which above all is faith.
