The lesson on October 6, 2013 started a new series on Ephesians and provided an overview of the book. Ephesians is such a huge blessing in the life of a Christian.  When you truly understand the message in Ephesians, it is like being born again, again.  When you look at Ephesians, there is an apparent structure to it.  When you look at Paul’s declaration in Ephesians 4:1 and 3:1 of being a prisoner of the Lord, this identifies this as a prison epistle but it is much more than that.  We are encouraged to walk worthy of the basis on the doctrine we were just given.  The structure of the six chapters of Ephesians is divided in chapters 1-3, which was all doctrine which is the basis on which we walk worthy.  Chapters 4-6 are the practical instructions.  When you study Ephesians, you are in the meat of scripture.  The scripture reading was from Ephesians 1:1-6 KJV “1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus: 2 Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: 4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: 5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, 6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.”
