The lesson on October 13, 2013 continued the “Ephesians” study with part 2 and answered the question why Ephesians is so important to us in this age.  A contrast was presented in Acts 13 which was a ministry that was presented in picture form of the future Ephesians message.  We learned in Acts 13 that Saul, which was his Hebrew name, also had a Gentile name which was Paul.  In Acts, Paul was teaching to the Jew first in Synagogues all the way until the end of Acts.  Judaizers are those who try and pull us back in Acts period truths that were part of the previous administration.  Paul is taking us forward to be free from that which was given to the Jew showing us a brand new revelation that Paul is revealing that was hidden in God before the foundation of the world.  In Acts, the olive tree was where the Gentiles were grafted in to provoke Isreal to jealousy, but that olive tree was chopped down in Acts 28 (but not forever).  God will bring Israel back to fulfill all the promises they were given.  Ephesians was when God revealed a hidden plan to the Gentiles. The scripture reading for this lesson was in Acts 13:11-13 KJV “11 And now, behold, the hand of the Lord is upon thee, and thou shalt be blind, not seeing the sun for a season. And immediately there fell on him a mist and a darkness; and he went about seeking some to lead him by the hand. 12 Then the deputy, when he saw what was done, believed, being astonished at the doctrine of the Lord. 13 Now when Paul and his company loosed from Paphos, they came to Perga in Pamphylia: and John departing from them returned to Jerusalem.”
