Lessons

The lesson on May 25, 2014 was part 28 of the “Ephesians” study and celebrated Memorial Day in the America by studying the whole armor of God.  The lesson started with a review of Ephesians in how it was written by the Apostle PAul as a prisoner of Jesus Christ post Acts 28 when he was now authorized to preach to the Gentiles first. PAul wrote 6 chapters in Ephesians and it is perfectly balanced where the first three chapters are doctrinal truth for our age today and the last three chapters are the practical section showing us how to walk today.  This lesson then covered the whole armor of God that we are supposed to put on today.  This is in contrast to the armor of God that the christians put on the the gospel or Acts period.  Wayne showed us the armor the apostles were to put on during the gospels by taking us through verses in Luke.  The comparison showed that if you attempt to put on armor intended for another group in another age, disaster is sure to be the result.  The warning comes to us about the wiles of the devil and he is the one that is energizing this confusion in Christianity today, causing the church to be divided.  That is why Christians today have become wimps on issues where they should be united to stand.  The scripture reading was in Ephesians 6:10-18 KJV

“10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;”
