The lesson on November 3, 2013 was part 5 of the “Ephesians” study and covered chapter 1 through verse 14.  In this section we learn of the witness of the spirit and the security of our salvation when it speaks to the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession.  We looked at the word “mystery” or “musterion” when Paul says the mystery of His will. Some charts were presented showing how many times “mystery” was used and we learn from that analysis that you have to distinguish between Pauls two ministries (Paul – prior to Acts 28, and PAul, post Acts 28, when PAul wrote Ephesians). We learn that all the primary hopes (the Land, New Jersualem, and Heavenly Places) will come together in Christ in the dispensation of the fullness of times!  Ephesians is such the meat of scripture and here we find wording that make is personal to us when it says in verse 13… “the gospel of YOUR salvation”.  This book is written to you!  The scripture reading was from Ephesians 1:11-14 KJV “11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: 12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. 13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, 14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.”
