Lessons

The lesson on May 17, 2015 was part 29 of the “First Corinthians” study.  This lesson opens up with chapter 12 where Paul is teaching on spiritual matters or gifts to the Corinthians. When we compare the spiritual gifts given to those in the Acts period vs the gifts listed to us in the post Acts period, we see something has changed! If we try to impose the doctrine of the Acts period books to us today, it is like being in prison.  When you come to the prison epistles, you see that all the shadows of traditions have been replaced by the substance, the head which is Christ. We also learn why the Trinity of the Godhead is not represented in the Hindu beliefs of Ying and Yang with the explanation of “the all things”, which separates sin and evil from God. The analogy of crossing the river Jordan was used to describe the transition of Acts 28:28. When you come to the second ministry of PAul, you will take the shackles off and become truly free of religion in Christ.  The scripture reading was in 1 Corinthians 12:1-6 KJV

“1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant. 2 Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led. 3 Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost. 4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. 6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.”
