Lessons

The lesson on August 9, 2015 was part 35 of the “First Corinthians” study.  This lesson finishes chapter 14 and reviews what was taught around tongues.  We learned that tounges was not the best gift, prophecy was better and their were rules that were applied when tounges was spoken during Acts.  There was time taken to explain why prophets are present in the both callings, the economy in Acts and post Acts age were PAul revealed the hidden purpose of God. When the remaining part of chapter 14 was completed, the lesson turned to the subjection that God put forth and explained how PAul shows the the headship was established back in Eden and carried through to each age or dispensation.  It is the recent women’s liberation movement that rejected the function of the God given gender and was contrary to the subjection that was established in Eden.  The scripture reading was from 1 Corinthians 14:29-33 KJV

“29 Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge.30 If any thing be revealed to another that sitteth by, let the first hold his peace. 31 For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted. 32 And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets. 33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.”
