The lesson on October 20, 2019 was part 29 of the “Genesis” study.  This week Wayne looked at the descendants of Cain and hightlighted that they weren’t knuckle draggers.  In fact, Cain’s line were talented tillers and the Hebrew word inferred them being “Smiths” e.g. blacksmith, etc.  Often you find those who are opposed to God being themselves talented and making things of value.  Why?  Well, each one of us are created in the image of God and are given talents from God even though they won’t acknowledge it.  When Cain was asked by God where was his brother Abel, he responded disrespectfully with “am I my brothers keeper?”.  In fact, Cain you did have the responsibility.  In your rebellion you wanted to establish your own way to please God from your own works in addition to being responsible for your brother.  The scripture reading was from Genesis 4:19-24 KJV

“19 And Lamech took unto him two wives: the name of the one was Adah, and the name of the other Zillah. 20 And Adah bare Jabal: he was the father of such as dwell in tents, and of such as have cattle. 21 And his brother’s name was Jubal: he was the father of all such as handle the harp and organ. 22 And Zillah, she also bare Tubal-cain, an instructer of every artificer in brass and iron: and the sister of Tubal-cain was Naamah. 23 And Lamech said unto his wives, Adah and Zillah, Hear my voice; ye wives of Lamech, hearken unto my speech: for I have slain a man to my wounding, and a young man to my hurt. 24 If Cain shall be avenged sevenfold, truly Lamech seventy and sevenfold.”
