The lesson on November 3, 2019 was part 31 of the “Genesis” study.  Wayne took us back today to reemphasize why Right Division is so important when we are studying scripture.  In Genesis, the doctrine we learn of being a “keeper” is reflected in the sin that Cain had before he murdered Abel.  Can was a tiller of the ground which meant he had the responsibility to be his brothers keeper which is what he responded to God with after he had killed Abel and received the curse that God put on him.  We too as Christians have the responsibility of reading scripture and understanding doctrine that is given to what group of people and when it applies.  We recounted a recent debate between and atheist and a Christian where the atheist won because he pulled scripture out of the Gospels where Jesus had said they would not die if they take poison.  This was true in that dispensation but ended at Acts 28:28.  The scripture does not contain doctrine that is active today and the only way to refute what the atheist was arguing was with Right Division.  Wayne shared with us Appendix 83 from the Companion Bible that teaches us how to read Jeremiah since it explains the chronological order of Jeremiah’s prophesies.  We learned that the way to Rightly Divide the scriptures is not from the Old Testament and New, but rather from Prophecy and The Mystery.  The scripture reading was from Jeremiah 23:5-8 KJV

“5 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth. 6 In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE Lord OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS. 7 Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that they shall no more say, The Lord liveth, which brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt; 8 But, The Lord liveth, which brought up and which led the seed of the house of Israel out of the north country, and from all countries whither I had driven them; and they shall dwell in their own land.”
