Lessons

The lesson on November 24, 2019 was part 34 of the “Genesis” study.  Being that is the week of Thanksgiving in America, Wayne started his lesson with a commentary on the founders of this country, having traveled so far in a ship that could be considered a dingy by today’s standards.  These founding fathers suffered the harsh winter in this new land where half of them perished.  Why?  They had a hope that served as their motivation.  In the end, the US Constitution was created as the supreme law of the land that expressed their hope in a new republic.  Wayne also shared he received good study material from the Wall Builders and also warned of the desire to form a Constitutional Convention.  Even those with good intentions don’t agree among themselves to opening up the Constitution for amendment would be very dangerous and an attack on the liberties established already in the document.  Wayne commented that the John Birch Society is a good source of material on that issue.  Now, when the main lesson started it was going to lay the foundation for the “Pleroma” or fullness.  In doing so, the lesson taught us about the Gap theory of the Earth was created perfect and then a judgment came upon it.  When God then recreated the Earth, his intention was to fill it with Israel.  The chart on the “Pleroma”  from CH Welch does a good job showing how something was started, then disruption or judgement occurred but will be fulfilled later.  The only calling that doesn’t need refilling is the Mystery because it is the fullness.  In this fullness, we learn of the heavenly places which is where we sit with Christ.  The scripture reading was from Hebrews 11:1-3 KJV

“1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. 2 For by it the elders obtained a good report. 3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.”
