Hold the form of sound words. This is the admonition Paul gave to Timothy in the last book of the bible, chronologically speaking. 2 Timothy 1:13 (KJV) says “Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.” It is customary that the last orders given supercedes all previous orders. One might say this holds true for handling the word of God accurately. If you don’t know the difference between the canon of scripture and the chronology of the bible, please study more about the differences here. As christians, we are called to get into the word. How often do you study ? The bible is not a book just to pull off the shelf on Sunday. We are to get into scripture each and every day so we may learn about Christ and our specific calling in order to be found faithful. Matthew 12:35-37 (KJV) says “A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things. But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.” Which words to we hide in our heart? The bible gives us our doctrine. The doctrine is the root and the fruit comes from the root. Are you producing the right fruit? The lesson on 07-28-2002 teaches on the Word and reminds us that it should be our daily bread.
