Love and Hope. The lesson on 12-30-2001 reminds us of our blessings as we go into 2002. Primarily, the lesson reminds us of the Love and Hope that is in Christ Jesus. There are many situations in life where people give up and lose hope. However, in Christ, we have an abundance of love and hope that is always there for us. How? According to Philippians 1:8-11 (KJV) ”For God is my record, how greatly I long after you all in the bowels of Jesus Christ. And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment; That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ; Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.” Concequently, as Christians, we need to: 1) Exercise love in discernment, 2) make good decisions, and 3) be filled with sincerity without offense. By doing so, we will know the love of Christ. As Ephesians 3:17-19 (KJV) states “That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.” Click here to listen to the lesson on 12-30-2001.
