The lesson on March 11, 2018 was a message given studying Paul and Timothy.  Wayne has yet to settle on the next study so in the meantime, we are looking at the Apostle Paul when he was first accused of the Jewish leadership in Acts 24 and how they hired a professional speaker to accuse Paul of being “a pestilent fellow, and a mover of sedition among all the Jews throughout the world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes:”   We are looking at the whereabouts of Paul from Acts 24 to Ephesians 1 in the transition of Acts 28 until the revelation of the Mystery in Ephesians 3.  We learned that Paul stood alone to defend himself and successfully apealed to Ceasar.  We looked at the first defense in how that suggests a second defense but eventually Paul loses when we read in 2 Timothy 4:7 that he had faught a good fight and the time of his departure was at hand.  How free was Paul to travel and preach during this time?  In Acts 28:31 we learn that “Paul dwelt two whole years in his own hired house, and received all that came in unto him, Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him”.  The scripture reading was from Acts 24:1-6 KJV

“1 And after five days Ananias the high priest descended with the elders, and with a certain orator named Tertullus, who informed the governor against Paul. 2 And when he was called forth, Tertullus began to accuse him, saying, Seeing that by thee we enjoy great quietness, and that very worthy deeds are done unto this nation by thy providence, 3 We accept it always, and in all places, most noble Felix, with all thankfulness. 4 Notwithstanding, that I be not further tedious unto thee, I pray thee that thou wouldest hear us of thy clemency a few words. 5 For we have found this man a pestilent fellow, and a mover of sedition among all the Jews throughout the world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes: 6 Who also hath gone about to profane the temple: whom we took, and would have judged according to our law.”
