Proverbs – The Wisdom of Solomon. The book of Proverbs is one that is a continuous treasury of wisdom. No matter how many times you read the 31 chapters, there is always something new that jumps out and gets your attention. There may be times when you wonder what Solomon was trying to get across. Many books have been written to that end. There is one in particular that serves as a good study aide when reading Proverbs. The book “Proverbs” by Charles Bridges, has commentary on each verse in Proverbs. The lesson on August 3, 2003 covers some of the commentary from the book. This lesson emphasizes how much God has revealed to us in His word and He expects us to know it. God does not demonstrate any special treatment for being ignorant of His word.
