Lessons

The Providence of God. The lesson on December 7, 2008 covered a topic about the providence of God. Providence is made up of two words: “pro” meaning “before”, and “video” meaning “to see”. One of the attributes of God is being omniscient which is where he gets his providence but he still has given us free choice in the matter. If you looked up the definition of PROVIDENCE in the 1828 edition of Webster’s American Dictionary of the English Language, you would see this “The act of providing or preparing for future use…” God’s providence is simply broken down into these three: 1. God has a plan. 2. God’s plan is good. 3. God’s plan involves you. The lesson goes into what good plan God has and how you are involved. The apostle Paul said it best in Ephesians 2:10 (KJV) ”For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” Not only should we walk in good works, but we should be faithful and available to teach his plan as Paul declares in 2 Timothy 2:1-2 (KJV) “Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.” Are you one of these faithful Christians who have been called? Won’t you choose to be on his team to teach!
