The lesson on July 2, 2017 was part 22 of “The U, V and W of Right Division”.  Wayne reviewed last weeks lesson and emphasized the analogy used of the separation of the United States from England, using the divorce of the American’s from the legal connection to Great Britain to that of the divorce of the Jews from the calling of God after Acts 28 with the revelation of The Mystery in Ephesians.  We learned why America choose July 4th as the day to celebrate Independence.  July 4, 1776 wasn’t the day that the Continental Congress decided to declare independence (they did that on July 2, 1776). ´It wasn’t the day we started the American Revolution either (that had happened back in April 1775). And it wasn’t the day Thomas Jefferson wrote the first draft of the Declaration of Independence (that was in June 1776). Or the date on which the Declaration was delivered to Great Britain (that didn’t happen until November 1776). Or the date it was signed (that was August 2, 1776).  It was the date that the Continental Congress approved the wording on July 4th!  We can celebrate the words that God gave us with the completed word of God.  Then we looked at the definition of Covenant Theology and laid the foundation to study the 7 covenants found in scripture. The scripture reading was from Acts 2:37-40 KJV

“2 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? 38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. 39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. 40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.”
