Genesis - Part 6

Genesis - Part 6
The lesson on March 10, 2019 was part 6 of the "Genesis" study. Wayne took time to dive into the detail around several key words.  First we looked at the phrase "very good" and found it meant functionally good vs. morally good.  Then we looked at Gensis 1:28 where God told Adam "...Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth."  The key words of "subdue" and "dominion" were explained by their Hebrew definitions of (kabash כָּבַשׁ) which meant "to Subdue with violence" and dominion (radaw רָּדָּה) means from scripture "Military Subjugation, Bondage, Subdue, Attack, rape (force a woman)"  This is not the common thought amongst Christians today.  It seems right from the beginning that Adam was a meat eater and the idea of them being vegetarians only is incorrect.  We also looked at the Tree of Life.  Was there death before Adam fell? What was the purpose of the tree of life? Did the animals have access to it? We find that Adam could die and finally did – he was NOT immortal.  This lesson answers these questions.  The scripture reading was from Romans 5:9-12 KJV

"9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. 10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. 11 And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement. 12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:"
