Eternal Life

What happens when you die?  Is there life after death?  These are fundamental questions we all must answer for ourselves.  How do I receive eternal life?

Salvation

You need a savior. Why? Because you have sinned and because you were conceived a sinner. The great news is that God provided His Son, Christ Jesus, as a free gift to be the savior you need. After living a sinless life, He shed His blood and died so that God could forgive you. To have a personal relationship with Christ Jesus and be saved from the penalty of sin, all you need to do is ask Him to save you and trust that His death paid for your sins.

Romans 3:10, 23
10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

No one is righteous with God.  Living a good life here will not get us eternal life with God.  Man’s best efforts are as filthy rags in God’s site. The penalty of sin is death, but life is through Christ Jesus.

Romans 6:23
23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

We can do nothing to save ourselves.

Ephesians 2:8-9
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

John 3:7, 16
7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

John 14:6
6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Prayer of Salvation

Below is a sample prayer and is merely a suggestion and not something that must be recited verbatim. Saying the prayer itself does not save you, sincerely believing the words one speaks to God does as explained in Romans 10:9.

“Dear God, I want real life with you! I’m sorry for my past rebellion and sins and now have decided to follow Jesus, accepting Him as my Lord and Savior.  Forgive me of my sin and help me to always give You first place in my life.  Thank you for making Your home with me and bringing me Your life through resurrection, abundant and eternal, Amen.”

Tell me more

As a new baby in Christ, you are now asked to grow in the milk of the word (the fundamentals) and become mature so you can eat the meat of the word (deeper doctrines).  Eating a proper spiritual meal is best consumed through the right division of Scripture.  This avoids having combination salads with every bit of doctrine in Scripture but instead having hearty meals properly prepared to provide nourishment and not spiritual indigestion.

This site is dedicated to the proper interpretation of Scripture so you may grow to the mature Christian who receives God’s approval.

2 Timothy 2:15; 3:16,17
2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

The presentation below is a “Road Map to Eternal Life” which takes you on the journey to become saved and to grow in Christ so you will become a proper ambassador for Christ in your ministry of good works. It is based on the Road Map to Eternal Life (One Way) chart and can be downloaded from the charts section in the library. Be sure and view the speaker notes to see the additional Scriptures related to that place on the map.
